Another Viewpoint from a Renowned American!
I respectfully urge you to read the following well thought out statement, even as the May 1 boycott falls in tatters around the feet of the sorrowful "protest" group. By the way, in Mexico, illegal immigration is a felony. Only 15,000 persons have been granted citizenship in that country. I believe that the PROTESTS ought to be occurring on the Paseo de la Reforma in Mexico City.

Are there lots of people clamoring to immigrate to Mexico? Is there a long waiting list?
Actually, there are MANY people who are in Mexico illegally, amd many who wish to become naturalized Mexican citizens. They are mostly from El Salvador, Guatemala and other central American countries. It is also a place where illegals enter from other countries, such as the middle east. It is a documented fact that terrorists have attempted and sometimes successfully breached U.S. borders. They got into Guatemala, El Salvador and/or Mexico and behaved as though they were Mexican nationals crossing. Please keep in mind that there are also MANY legal immigrants in Mexico as well as first, second and third generation European. Middle East and Asian citizens. For example, there is a Chinatown in Mexico City. The tapestry and fabric industries are mostly owned by Arab and Arab-Mexican business persons. It is similar to the U.S. in that there are other nations represented in the population - obviously not as much as here. But emphatically MANY people have immigrated to Mexico. Thousands of Cuban refugees also settled there and those who obtain visas to leave Cuba go to Mexico and wait for permission to go to family in other parts of the U.S., especially Florida. In fact, I would imagine there should be a great support of the refugees from Cuba who are escaping Castro's tyranny. These of course are here legally.
The Mexican Constitution does NOT treat illegal residency with ANY compassion whatsoever.
